The scaled model shape resolution for cutting is 100 DPI or .01" (10000 elevation points per square inch).

Model size is 15" x 10"  ... often model size is adjusted after looking at the image and elevation grid in Global Mapper.

Model scale is 1:9600 or 1"=800'. The unscaled model size is 12000' x 10000' (2.27 miles x 1.89 miles).

Unscaled model parameters

Multiplying the above parameters by the scale factor, 9600, and converting them to meters for use for Global Mapper file export.

    1) Calculate the XY sample spacing:   .01" x 9600=96/39.3700787  meters   or   2.438400002 meters

    2) Calculate the image sample spacing: .002" x 9600=19.2"=19.2/39.3700787 meters  or  .487680000 meters

    3) Calculate the model size in unscaled space:   Width 15" x 9600  Height 10" x 9600 ...  Width 3657.6 meters   Height 2438.40000 meters

These values are entered into the GeoTIFF Export Options to make the SHAPE and IMAGE files. Here are the Global Mapper steps:

                                                                                                                      ----> resulting shape file AugustaSHAPE1.tif ... 1501 x 1001, 6.0 MB

                                                                                                                      ----> resulting image file AugustaIMAGE1.tif ... 7500 x 5000, 37.8 MB
